Kaitiaki Focuses

Kaitiaki continue to enhance and restore whenua, wai and kai. They are driven by working towards a set of key goals and working across other programmes of work including new native nurseries, farming operations and iwi-led environmental site visits and Waananga. Our key drivers and outcomes are;

  • Asset and site management
  • Pest and weed control for terrestrial work, (identifying new projects required for Waikato Awa)
  • Monitoring and recording including ecological assessments and habitat care conducted by Opus, Deloitte, Becca, and Dr Adam Forbes
  • Support other project Managers (both business and research focused)
  • Up-skilling in interviews and waananga facilitation connected to regional and national events, forum and hui.
